What is Muhurat Trading? Here is everything you should know about it

Muhurat trading is a trading session conducted on the occasion of Diwali. According to the Hindu calendar, “Muhurta” is a unit of measurement of time. This Trading session is  held on the evening of “Laxmi Pujan”. . For the trading communities in North India, the new financial year begins with Diwali. A puja is performed in diwali to signify the beginning of a new year. Most traders prefer to buy stocks or start their trading journey on this day. Investors prefer to buy stocks on this buy for long term. Timing of Muhurat Trading is decided by NSE & BSE.

Market timings for Muhurat trading on October 30, 2016 are as follow:

Pre-open session: 6.15pm to 6.23pm
Normal session: 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Closing session: 7.50pm
